The Wake Up Suzzys – Self-Titled EP
It’s pretty amazing that Indie Music Reviewer reaches people from all around the world. Each day bands and musicians submit their music to us, hoping their music reaches even more ears. It’s incredible really. This band you are about to be introduced to is no different. Hailing all the way from Tel Aviv, Israel The Wake Up Suzzys are a fantastic new band that will bring fun and joy to your ears (just look on their Facebook page, and album art). Getting their name from the Everly Brothers’ 1957 hit “Wake Up Little Susie,” this relatively new 4-piece band has some terrific potential and will leave you feeling excited as to what they can do next.
Like mentioned before, The Wake Up Suzzys are all about having fun. Inspired by old American movies, and American pop-culture icons, their music has an exciting, vintage feel. They keep their lyrical content light and breezy, while their music is seriously catchy. Their self-titled debut E.P. is six songs that are fast-paced, upbeat good old pop rock. After just one listen not only will you be singing along, but head bopping, toe tapping and dancing with abandon.
After being together only a year, Zohar Ginzburg (guitar and vocals), Dan Carpman (bass and vocals), Ran Jacobovitz (drums and vocals), and Yotam Schlezinger (guitar, vocals) have chemistry that oozes through their music. As you listen to the songs on their EP (which was only released in May of this year) it’s clear that they all share a similar sense of humor. They let their fun-loving nature reflect in their music, while also showing they are serious musicians capable of creating music that people from all over the world can listen to and appreciate. Each song is catchier than the next, with a surprise ballad, “Rosie” to close out the EP.
They are currently performing shows in the Tel Aviv area, and working on new material. This four piece is just the tip of the iceberg of terrific bands all around the world, playing music that deserves to be listened to. Give The Wake Up Suzzys a listen, and love! Throw them a like on their Facebook page, and get their music off of their Bandcamp page. Amazing music cannot be made if we don’t support it. So get out there and support indie!
