The First Stone released their latest album “Also That” at Smith’s Olde Bar on 9/1/2011 in Atlanta, GA and we are proud to have been a part of it all. Here are a few clips of the night. Thanks guys for the plug in the beginning.
Also, be sure to note the amazing cellist Nick Ogawa, from Takenobu. Nick joined The First Stone for this set and also appears on their newest album “Also That” due to be available online soon. We picked up a few free copies, so look for us to give away a copy or two soon.
To sum it all up, The First Stone’s sound would be best described as alternative, adult contemporary, with sprinklings of funk and jam. One song played tonight, entitled “Low Down” even has an “island” feel to it.
The First Stone opened up with the title track of the album “Make Believe” and wowed the audience (as you can see by the end of the clip.) Their songs were tight and rehearsed and they were a great live band to see. All songs throughout the night were from their latest release “Also That” and even included a duet performance by Brian Kelly, lead singer, on piano and Nick Ogawa on cello which left the crowd wanting more. After a few more songs, they ended the night with Back To You which they released for listening in 2010 and had the whole crowd cheering.
Congrats to The First Stone for packing Smith’s Olde Bar and a successful CD release party.
