Although I did not have time to see their set at UTOPiAfest, I crossed paths with Foot Patrol this past weekend in Utopia, Texas. Their new release Pussyfooting is kinky, funky, and has sentimentality for the “party-like-it’s-1999″ feel of the 80′s.
It would not be a spoiler to let you know that every song has a foot fetish theme. Unlike other songwriting gimmicks, this approach works especially well for the style. Foot Patrol is a freaky six-piece from Austin, Texas fronted by keyboardist TJ Wade. The music has a sexy groove that belongs in your headphones, as well as on that playlist you keep for special occasions in the bedroom. Wade’s soulful falsetto flirtatiously delivers witty lines about open-toed shoes in “Welcome Me” and deftly raps about how much he loves foot aromas in “Stanky.”
Pussyfooting is groove-y fun and even comes with instructions to dance the “Mudslide.” Check out the Youtube video for the complete lesson.
Keep up with Foot Patrol on their homepage, Facebook, and listen to the rest of “Pussyfooting” for more foot puns than you thought existed.

from a woman’s perspective… this belongs in a boys locker room not in the bedroom lol. Fun music, nice review, very funny!
I could see using mudslide on my iPod as part of my running mix.
Kayt, I hope I didn’t offend. It is a pretty macho review. I’ll keep that in mind next time
no offense taken
Well we have 5 more cd’s full of foot puns, and counting! To absurdity and beyond!
